Comal’s District Clerk is integrated with re:SearchTX. Effective September 1, 2025, the office stopped e-serving or emailing Court Orders and Notices of Court Orders and directs parties to obtain those documents through re:SearchTX.
Email the District Clerk with the document request. The office says it will reply with the total fee and take payment by phone; this turns a general case hit into the filed document you can read or submit.
Regular copies can be emailed. Certified copies can be paid for by phone but must be picked up or mailed; the clerk currently lists an additional $2 fee for mailing certified copies.
Useful when you need to read the filed document or retain a working copy. The District Clerk says regular copies can be delivered by email after the fee is quoted and paid.
Use when a court, agency, employer, licensing body or another recipient specifically requires clerk certification. For District Clerk records, Comal currently requires pickup or mail rather than email delivery of the certified copy.
The County Court at Law Clerk has a dedicated criminal-misdemeanor contact. Start there for County Court at Law records instead of assuming the District Clerk route applies to every Comal criminal matter.
The Texas DPS public name search currently charges one $1 search credit and searches the state criminal-history system, while Comal court tools identify county court cases and filings. DPS also warns that name/date-of-birth matching can return the wrong person or miss the correct record; its search guidance says fingerprint identification is the way to positively link someone to a criminal record. Use the product whose scope matches the question, then obtain the court document when exact disposition language matters.
